{"id":50998,"date":"2017-03-10T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-03-09T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.santpol.edu.es\/euht-stpol-udg-and-enti-ub-organize-the-first-gamification-session-about-hospitality-and-tourism-management-of-the-state\/"},"modified":"2017-03-10T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2017-03-09T23:00:00","slug":"euht-stpol-udg-and-enti-ub-organize-the-first-gamification-session-about-hospitality-and-tourism-management-of-the-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.santpol.edu.es\/en\/blog\/euht-stpol-udg-and-enti-ub-organize-the-first-gamification-session-about-hospitality-and-tourism-management-of-the-state\/","title":{"rendered":"EUHT StPOL-UdG and ENTI-UB organize the first Gamification session about Hospitality and Tourism Management of the State"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>This two university centers, pioneers offering university degrees in their respective areas, will organize a <strong>Game Jam<\/strong> the next March 17<sup>th<\/sup> and 18<sup>th<\/sup>, where the students will prototype the solutions of the <strong>applied game <\/strong>for the <strong>tourism sector<\/strong> from the focus on the Hotel Management.<\/h2>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-15856\" src=\"http:\/\/santpol.edu.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/web-gamification-300x240.jpg\" alt=\"web gamification\" width=\"300\" height=\"240\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The students of the <strong>University College of Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts of Sant Pol de Mar (EUHT StPOL-UdG<\/strong>), affiliated to the <strong>University of Girona,<\/strong> and the <strong>School of New Interactive Technologies (ENTI-UB)<\/strong>, affiliated to the <strong>University of Barcelona<\/strong>, will participate together in a <strong>Game Jam<\/strong> with the goal to generate prototypes who give responses to a future necessity on the hospitality sector.<\/p>\n<p>ENTI-UB and EUHT StPOL have been pioneers in the State giving university degrees in their respective areas: Videogames, Applied Games and Hospitality Management <strong>since 1966 in the case of EUHT StPOL- UdG<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In this way, the two formative centers will join forces and talents for giving shape to the first activity of this type in Spain: \u201c<strong>Serious Games for Hospitality and Tourism<\/strong>\u201d, or what is the same, serious games applied to the tourism area.<\/p>\n<p>The event, which will take place on the next March 17<sup>th<\/sup> and 18<sup>th<\/sup> in the \u201c<strong>Hotel-School Sant Pol de Mar<\/strong>\u201d, will allow for the students to put in practice, during 12 hours, their knowledge in the world of games and video games development, and on the other hand in the <strong>hospitality and tourism area<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty students from <strong>EUHT StPOL-UdG<\/strong> and twenty from the <strong>ENTI-UB<\/strong> will be distributed in groups of 5 persons and will have to present at the end of the <strong>Game Jam<\/strong> a document of their project\u2019s design, a presentation of the same and a prototype implementation. All those in front of a jury.<\/p>\n<p>This session grounds its methodology on the knowledge emerged from the <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/BMuOug\"><strong>JamToday<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s European investigation project, the first European network dedicated to the design of the <strong>applied games<\/strong>, in which are involved enterprises, public institutions, school and others.<\/p>\n<p>Increasingly the <strong>serious games<\/strong> are bursting with more force, proposals of ludic nature, designed with a main purpose that goes beyond pure entertainment.
