The session took place at EUHT StPOL on March 17 and 18The event was attended by 8 teams from different centers, studies, profiles and courses.<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>The<strong> University College of Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts <\/strong>(EUHT StPOL) and<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/enti.cat\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The School of New Interactive Technologies<\/a> <\/strong>(ENTI) organized, on March 17 and 18, the first <strong>Gamejam<\/strong> in Spain by the title <strong>\u201cSerious Games for Tourism\u201d<\/strong>, an activity about how to apply games to <strong>Hospitality<\/strong> and <strong>Tourism<\/strong> <strong>industry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-16105\" src=\"http:\/\/santpol.edu.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Foto-piscina-300x182.jpg\" alt=\"Foto piscina\" width=\"300\" height=\"182\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The event, which consisted of two sessions, took place at <strong>Hotel School\u2019s Sant Pol de Mar<\/strong> installations. Eight teams from different centers, studies, profiles and courses spent 12 hours working together to <strong>prototype<\/strong> <strong>game solutions<\/strong> applied to the tourism industry. Both disciplines \u2013game design and hospitality-tourism &#8211; were interconnected by <strong>young generations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A European Research Project<\/strong> called <a href=\"mailto:http:\/\/www.jamtoday.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>JamToday<\/strong><\/a> was the base of the two sessions knowledge. This project, which involves business, public institutions and schools \u2013 among others -, is <strong>the first European net <\/strong>dedicated to the <strong>applied game design<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The main objective of the event was to make young students generate able <strong>prototypes<\/strong> to resolve the <strong>future hospitality needs<\/strong>. In fact, the students had to design the \u201chotel of the future\u201d by attending those needs.\u00a0 We treated issues such as hotels themed by <strong>Augmented Reality<\/strong>, the improvement of the client <strong>experience<\/strong> by local points of connection, <strong>customization<\/strong> culinary games, new <strong>check-in<\/strong> tools, <strong>serious games<\/strong> on <strong>virtual reality<\/strong> or <strong>team building<\/strong> on hotels, among others.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>concept<\/strong>, the <strong>narrative<\/strong> and <strong>psychology<\/strong> were the real stars of the creative process ahead of the purely technological aspects. In addition, participants expressed what they thought about the actions a hotel or related service has to do to attract <strong>young people<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>At the last meeting, on <strong>March 18<\/strong>, the participants of the <strong>Gamejam<\/strong> conceptualized the following products: Role Playing Hotels, FreeXP, M3SA, GamEat, MH (MyHotel), Easy Stay, Wander 3D60, VR Team Building. The jury chose these three winning projects: <strong>Easy Stay, GamEat y FreeXP<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In short, <strong>gamejams<\/strong> are an excellent opportunity to bring together different <strong>professional<\/strong> <strong>profiles<\/strong> and to add knowledge and skills with the goal of designing <strong>innovative prototypes<\/strong>.
