The Gamejam will take place next April 14th. During the event, students will prototype applied game solutions for the tourism sector from the approach of the gastronomy and restoration<\/h3>\n

Students of the School of New Interactive Technologies (ENTI-UB)<\/a><\/strong>, affiliated to the University of Barcelona<\/strong> and 1st university of videogame in Spain, and of the University College of Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts of Sant Pol de Mar (EUHT StPOL)<\/a><\/strong>, affiliated to the Universitat de Girona and 1st and only Spanish school appearing in the QS international ranking<\/a><\/strong> of universities by specialties, will participate together in a Gamejam<\/strong> with the aim of generating prototypes that respond to future needs of the gastronomy and restoration sector.<\/p>\n

The two training centers join forces and talent to shape the second activity of this type of the state after the success of the first edition celebrated last year: “Serious games for Hospitality and Tourism”<\/strong>, or what is the same, serious games applied to the touristic industry.<\/p>\n

The event, which will take place on April 14th at the Hotel-School of Sant Pol de Mar<\/strong>, will allow students to put into practice, during 8 hours, their knowledge about game and videogame development, on the one hand, and in the field of gastronomy <\/strong>and restoration<\/strong>, on the other hand.<\/p>\n

Twenty students from ENTI-UB<\/strong> and twenty more from EUHT StPOL<\/strong> will be divided into 5 people groups and must present, at the end of the Gamejam<\/strong>, a design document of their project, a presentation of it and an implementation of the prototype. Everything, in front of a jury.<\/p>\n

This session bases its methodology on the knowledge arising from the European research project JamToday<\/a><\/strong>, the first European network dedicated to the design of applied games<\/strong>, in which companies, public institutions, schools, etc. are involved.<\/p>\n

Serious games<\/strong> are breaking out nowadays. They are playful proposals, designed with a main purpose that goes beyond pure entertainment. Serious games<\/strong> also become an educational, therapeutic <\/strong>or scientific<\/strong> research tool.<\/p>\n

Once again, the students will work due to improve the future of tourism<\/strong> through videogames<\/strong>. Different professional profiles will co-create solutions from disruption and creative freedom.<\/p>\n
