Get ready to take notes and don\u2019t forget that attitude is as important as knowledge and experience in this industry.<\/span><\/div>\n

Hospitality skills to be a perfect host<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As a professional of the hospitality industry, you should have in mind that attitude is about 80% of your success. Of course, studying a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Hospitality Management<\/a> or a Master in Hotel Management or in F&B Management<\/a> is a must, but don\u2019t forget some important values to become the perfect host in this industry.<\/p>\n

The president of the Official College of Tourism Professionals of Catalonia (COPTUR<\/a>), Silvana Millet, said in the master lecture of the Graduation Ceremony that there are some skills that every graduate in hospitality management should have because they are essential to work in this industry.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Some of these hospitality skills are:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Communication:<\/span> <\/strong>The ability of communicate with guests, staff and managers both spoken and written is crucial to work in the hospitality environment.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Initiative:<\/span> <\/strong>Have ideas, be active, become a leader. Leadership is a perfect skill to work as hotel manager or Food and Beverage manager.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Adaptability: <\/span><\/strong>In the hospitality industry you\u2019ll need to adapt to different situations, different customers, different cultural environments. Changes will enrich your personal and professional experience.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Attention to details<\/span>:<\/strong> Every little detail says something about you and about the company, in a positive or in a negative way. In the hospitality industry, paying attention to details is really important to be the perfect host.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Cultural awareness<\/span><\/strong>: During your professional career in the hospitality industry, you\u2019ll probably work in different countries with different cultures and you\u2019ll serve guests with different cultural origins.
