A few days ago we published a <a href=\"https:\/\/santpol.edu.es\/en\/blog\/internships-hotels-restaurants-worldwide\/\">map with the summer internships destination<\/a> of EUHT students and today we publish an individual testimony.<\/p>\n<p>She is Clara Chazarreta, student of the <a href=\"https:\/\/santpol.edu.es\/en\/bachelor-degree-in-hospitality-and-tourism-management\/\">Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management<\/a>. In the fall she will start the last year of the bachelor&#8217;s degree and this summer, like the previous ones, she has done an internship abroad. Her internship destination: a five-star hotel-resort of Marriott International hotel chain located on the island of Malta. Don&#8217;t miss out the interview we have carried out with her.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]<strong>In which department are you doing your summer internship?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This summer I&#8217;m doing my internship at The Westin Dragonara Resort, a 5-star hotel-resort located in St. Julian&#8217;s, Malta belonging to the Marriott International chain of luxury hotels and resorts.<\/p>\n<p>The department where I work is <strong>Food &amp; Beverage<\/strong>, specifically in one of the hotel&#8217;s most distinctive outlets: the ORVM Lounge &amp; Piano Bar, which is considered the social heart of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espanol.marriott.com\/hotels\/travel\/mlawi-the-westin-dragonara-resort-malta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Westin Dragonara Resort<\/a>.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #981e32;\">During the internship I&#8217;m learning the details of the organization, coordination and internal functioning of a large hotel.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<strong>What is your day-to-day?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In my day-to-day I work with my team in the Lobby Bar, where we carry out a practically uninterrupted food service: our guests can enjoy an extensive menu of local and international snacks, as well as a wide range of classic and original cocktails. Every day we serve about 400 diners![\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #981e32;\">What I like the most of my internship experience in Malta is having the opportunity to practice all the languages I know.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<strong>What are you learning?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During this internship I&#8217;m learning to work under pressure and to better optimize my effort.\u00a0In addition, I&#8217;m learning the details of the organization, coordination and inner workings of a hotel of such a scale, which as a student of the hotel industry I find quite valuable.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;55214&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; title=&#8221;The Westin Dragonara Resort en Malta&#8221;][vc_column_text]<strong>What&#8217;s the best of your internship experience?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The best about my internship experience in Malta is having <strong>the opportunity to practice all the languages I know<\/strong>. In my day-to-day I communicate with my colleagues and guests in English, but from time to time I can also practice German and French and even a little Japanese!<\/p>\n<p>But, above all, the best part of working at The Westin Dragonara is the Food and Beverage team &#8211; all of my colleagues are hard-working, talented, and never lose their smile.
