Sabrina and Estel, fourth-year students in the Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality and Culinary Management are currently doing their Erasmus program at Hotelschool The Hague in the Netherlands. After several months living and studying abroad, our students share how their Erasmus experience is going, the opportunities they have discovered, and the lessons they are learning both academically and personally. They also tell us about their first impressions upon arriving in a new country, adapting to a different culture, and facing the challenges and rewards of this international stage that will undoubtedly shape their education in the hospitality sector.

1. Why did you choose this destination for your Erasmus program?

We chose this destination because Hotelschool The Hague is a highly recognized university worldwide, and we were also very attracted to the country and its culture.

2. How were your first days in the city and at the university?

We adapted very well. From the very beginning, the university was very attentive regarding our arrival and explained to us how everything works. We had the opportunity to meet new students from different nationalities, as it is an international university.

3. What do you think about the classes so far? And the teaching methodology?

The classes are very dynamic and interactive, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and new technologies. They focus a lot on doing practical assignments to apply what is explained in class.

From the very beginning, the university was very attentive and explained to us how everything works. We had the opportunity to meet new students from different nationalities.

In conclusion, the Erasmus experience represents an invaluable opportunity for both personal and professional growth, especially in the hospitality and tourism field, where internationalization and understanding other cultures are essential. Living and studying in another country allows students to broaden their horizons, adapt to new environments, and develop a global vision of the industry.
