The MICHELIN Keys are a recognition awarded to hotels around the world that are part of the MICHELIN Guide.
The winners of the 2025 MICHELIN Keys have already been announced during the Michelin Key 2025 Global Awards Gala, held in Paris this Tuesday. It was an exciting event where we discovered the new hotels distinguished with one, two, or three MICHELIN Keys, as well as four special awards.
But what exactly are the MICHELIN Keys?
This highly prestigious recognition is awarded to accommodations that offer an exceptional experience to their guests. They achieve the highest standards in several categories, including architecture and interior design, quality of service, personality and overall character, value for money, and their contribution to the surrounding environment.
Specifically, Spain now has a total of 109 hotels recognized with MICHELIN Keys: 5 with three keys, 13 with two keys, and 91 with one key. Among them, there are 17 new additions. Here is the total distribution of MICHELIN Keys in Spain by autonomous community (including the new entries):
The 2025 MICHELIN Keys selection strengthens the recognition of Spain’s hotel sector, with a total of 109 properties now distinguished for their outstanding quality in aspects such as comfort, design, and their ability to offer an extraordinary guest experience. This 2025 edition includes 17 new additions, reflecting the sector’s growth as well as its continuous evolution and innovation. Among them, one property in Aragón stands out for being awarded two MICHELIN Keys, the second highest level of distinction. The rest of the new entries are spread across different regions and have each received one MICHELIN Key, demonstrating how this quality seal is expanding across the country.
In particular, the Balearic Islands have strengthened their presence in the guide. Although they already had 22 hotels on the list, they have added six new entries this year, spread across Mallorca, Menorca, and Formentera. Several other regions have also significantly increased their presence. Andalusia has added three new hotels in Marbella, Seville, and San Roque, bringing its total to 13 MICHELIN Key properties. Catalonia adds a new property in Girona, and Madrid incorporates another hotel to its distinguished selection. Meanwhile, the Basque Country and Castile and León each add one new property, while Castile-La Mancha and the Canary Islands debut or strengthen their presence with new additions that highlight their growing hospitality offerings.
This growth in geographical diversity shows how excellence in the Spanish hospitality sector now extends well beyond traditional tourist hotspots, showcasing the richness and variety of experiences the country offers to travelers seeking truly exceptional places to stay.
