A few weeks ago, we welcomed a group of students from Guatemala, Mexico, and Colombia to take part in a two-week Summer Course at EUHT StPOL. They enjoyed two weeks of theoretical and practical training in one of two specializations: Hotel Management or Culinary Arts.
During their stay at the hotel-school, they attended classes on subjects such as Sommelier Studies, Creating Experiences in the Hospitality Sector, Digitalization, Healthy Cooking, and Molecular Cuisine, all led by our expert faculty. In addition, they stayed at the Hotel Gran Sol, enjoying full board accommodation in our facilities.
They also took part in several professional visits, such as an excursion to the Alta Alella vineyard, where they learned about the different types of organic wines and cavas, as well as their production process, finishing the visit with a tasting session. Another visit included a trip to the city of Barcelona, where they enjoyed an olive oil tasting and a meal at the 7 Portes Restaurant.

An experience that goes beyond the classroom
In conclusion, the students of the summer course enjoyed two intense weeks of theoretical and practical learning. They highlighted the quality and passion of the school’s faculty, from whom they took away invaluable knowledge. They also emphasized the visit to the vineyard, which allowed them to deeply understand the process of wine and cava production, and in particular, Mediterranean wine-making.
Beyond everything they learned in class, living together at the hotel-school and sharing their day-to-day life with faculty members and classmates from different countries enabled them to develop key skills such as teamwork and intercultural communication, essential for succeeding in the hospitality industry. These two weeks were full of learning, but also of opportunities to get to know each other, exchange cultures, and create friendships they will surely remember forever.
