Practical information and recommendations

EUHT StPOL acts based on indications and recommendations from official sources such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the Governments of Spain and Catalonia and the University of Girona (university center to which we are affiliated).

The information will be reviewed and updated based on future news.

University programs

Following the measures recommended by the Health and Universities Departments of the Government of Catalonia in relation to COVID-19, and according to the indications of Universitat de Girona (university center to which we are affiliated):

  • From the 15th to the 30th of October (both inclusive) the theoretical on campus lectures of the Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management, the Master in Hospitality Management and the Master in Culinary Arts and Kitchen Management will be done online.

  • The rest of the activities and academic programs, as well as the practical lessons, continue in the on campus version, with the established protection measures and being adapted to the new conditions.

This is not the suspension of the activity, it is just a temporary measure implemented to reduce mobility and interaction between students of university programs.

Practical lessons and other academic programs

Preventive measures implemented at EUHT StPOL to ensure the safety of students and staff and to minimize the risks of Covid-19 contagion:

  • Mandatory use of a mask in all the facilities of EUHT StPOL.

  • Safety distance: it is mandatory to maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 metres between each other.

  • Daily temperature control when accessing the facilities. If someone exceed 37.5 º, he/she will not be able to attend class nor remain in the EUHT StPOL premises

  • Modification of the access times of each group to avoid congestion and reduce contact between people.

  • Installation of hydroalcoholic gel dispensers at different places of the EUHT StPOL. It is recommended to use them, as well as the frequency of hand hygiene with soap and water.

  • Reduction of the capacity of the classrooms; separation of tables and / or chairs to ensure a minimum distance of 1.5 meters between people.

  • Classroom and seat allocation: Each classroom is assigned to a single group; students must remain in the same chair and table during the entire academic day. In case a classroom is to be used by more than one group, it will be disinfected before the entrance of the new group.

  • Circulation circuits: The stairs and corridors of EUHT StPOL have been converted in a one-way street to minimize contact between people and to maintain distances. It is compulsory to follow the signs and respect the marked circulation circuits.

  • Increased frequency of cleaning and hygiene of the facilities.

  • Each classroom has self-service cleaning and disinfection material.

  • As a preventive measure, windows will be opened during the lessons for natural ventilation.

  • Recommendation not to share school supplies and / or the dining room - kitchen without first being properly disinfected.

  • Protocols and action plans have been created ant they will be activated in the event that a student, teacher or staff manifest symptoms of infection by Covid-19.
